Oils and sprays for motorcycles

Oils and lubricants for motorcycles

If you are planning to perform an oil change for your motorcycle, whether it is necessary or because you like to keep the motorcycle as it was on the first day, then it is essential to know which oils and lubricants for your motorcycle are the most suitable, as there are different types of engine oil.

To do this, it is necessary to know two fundamental aspects: first, and logically, to know what engine your motorcycle has, so we may either need a 4T motorcycle oil (4-stroke), or a 2T motorcycle oil (2-stroke). Secondly, it is important to consider the SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers of the USA) standard, which establishes a classification of viscosity grades depending on the temperature of use of the motorcycle oil, with options such as: 10W40 motorcycle oil, 10W50, 10W60, etc. Following this classification, the higher the number indicated on the oil, the better the viscosity will be maintained at higher temperatures, or conversely, a lower number will maintain better at lower temperatures, allowing the fluid to distribute properly.

For the latter case, a good option would be to choose a 0W40 engine oil, or if you use the motorcycle in places where there is a high average temperature, either the previously mentioned options or a 15W50 motorcycle oil. In this type of engine lubricants, brands like IPONE or Silkolene stand out, which offer oils of different types: synthentic, semi-synthetic, or mineral.

Not only is the engine oil important, but also the fork oil, as its application will allow for correct and efficient stability of the motorcycle, achieving a reduction in vibrations and a perfect smoothness in riding.

Additionally, there are other parts of the motorcycle that require good maintenance, such as: chain oil and grease for motorcycles, which, along with the chain cleaner gel, will ensure less wear on the chain. In this field, brands like IPONE or Scottoiler offer some of the best chain greases for motorcycles on the market; brake fluid, to have an optimal braking system; anti-corrosion protector for the metal parts of the motorcycle; and other cleaning products for exhausts, wheels, or the motorcycle in general.
