There are 3 types of compounds for brake pads, which you can choose from depending on your driving style:

Organic: These pads are made with materials such as aramid, graphite, carbon, and even glass. They offer controlled, smooth, and modulated braking. Perfect for scooters and low-power motorcycles.

• Advantages: Less noise while rolling, do not transfer heat to the caliper or brake fluid, and have good initial braking power.
• Disadvantages: Poor performance at high temperatures, short lifespan, and require proper bedding.

Sintered: These pads are made by mixing various metallic compounds, which are hardened through pressure and temperature. They contain additives to protect the disc from wear and cleaning. Perfect for medium and high displacement motorcycles.

• Advantages: High resistance and durability, progressive bite, and not abrasive to the brake disc.
• Disadvantages: Tend to transfer heat to the caliper and brake fluid, are noisy, and do not function properly until they reach their optimal operating window.

Semi-Sintered: These pads are the middle ground between organic and sintered, having fewer metallic elements than sintered pads, offering good responses for the vast majority of street motorcycles.

• Advantages: Greater durability and better performance at high temperatures. They are quite quiet due to their organic components. Greater bite.
• Disadvantages: Have the same disadvantages as organic pads, meaning you get the benefits of both organic and sintered pads.

It is worth noting that synthetic pads have a higher cost as their performance in terms of braking power is superior to semi-sintered pads; conversely, semi-sintered pads have a longer lifespan. 

Synthetic brake pads are recommended for all types of motorcycles, but especially for those with high power and weight, such as road, off-road, or maxi-scooters, as they need a good bite to stop the motorcycle. On the other hand, semi-sintered pads are better in terms of durability and performance, so I recommend them for scooters and low-displacement motorcycles where they do not have to excessively rely on the brake.
